Dr. Burack is the founder and principal of The Creative Source. He is an award-winning writer, poet, professor and scholar as well as an accomplished spiritual counselor, creativity/career coach, and organizational consultant. For over two decades, Chuck has been committed to catalyzing individual, collective, and planetary transformation.
As a professor and core faculty at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California, Chuck teaches interdisciplinary courses in psychology, spirituality, and literature and has pioneered contemplative and creative educational approaches. He has published three books and dozens of essays, articles, stories, and poems. He also has taught at UC Berkeley, St. Mary's College, California Institute of Integral Studies, Naropa University, Oakland, The Chaplaincy Institute, California State University, East Bay, Starr King School for Ministry, University of Creation Spirituality, and Chabot College.
Chuck helped create the interfaith curriculum at The Chaplaincy Institute and served as the director of its spiritual direction program. He has volunteered as a lay interfaith chaplain at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Walnut Creek, and currently serves on the Professional Advisory Group of the hospital's Clinical Pastoral Education program.
Before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1988, Chuck worked for six years as a strategic planner, communication consultant, and human resource specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He also worked as research assistant at the University of Chicago Medical Center and the University of Illinois Center for Research in Criminal Justice.
